Kim Forsyth, a qualified pharmacist
for over 13 years has taken over
sole ownership of Sylvan Bank
Pharmacy along with her husband
Fraser. The pair take pride in their
two young daughters and are
very hands-on parents. They are
also actively involved in their local
community and Kim is the President
of the Southland Pharmacist

Although she does lead a busy life, with the combination of operating a successful
business and raising children, Kim still finds time for herself.
Work colleagues say she is a great motivator who likes to challenge herself, both in
business and in her personal life.
Over the last couple of years she has taken an interest in running and recently competed
in both the Wai Tri run and the Lake Hayes Women's Duathlon.

It takes an honest, hard-working
person to want to give back to the
community, and that's just who
Joanne White is.
Joanne has been working with the Nga
Kete Matauranga Pounamu Charitable
Trust for the last nine years as Finance
Manager, but within the last two years,
has been heavily involved with their Toi
Toi Maori Arts & Gifts shop. Her job
involves ordering stock, and over-all
''It has been a real learning curve, I've
never done anything like it,'' she says.
The shop was set up two years ago in South City, but moved to Cambridge Place Arcade
in October after outgrowing its original space. The business was started as a way of giving
back to families in need. Profits from the giftware in the shop go directly back into the
community, and it takes the hard work of people such as Joanne to get such a wonderful
business working to such a high standard.
But Joanne is not the sort of person who takes full credit for a team effort. She puts its
success largely down to the businesses' wonderful staff who provide a fantastic service to
its many customers.
''The staff we have are fantastic,'' she says.

Alana King joined her father, Alan,
in his framing business 'Framed on
Windsor' eight years ago, and says
she couldn't ask for a better working

After spending a number of years
in Melbourne, she returned to
Invercargill to work with her Dad, in
